How long have you been in business?
In business since 1974.
What is your primary product or service?
We specialize in Business Insurance for Contractors, Restaurants, Distributors, Manufacturers, Retailers, Auto Repair Shops, Auto Dealerships and others.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My first job was for an insurance company. Since my father was an economist and my mother a registered nurse, numbers and people are a natural for me.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We like the small businesses the big agencies avoid. Our customers become our friends, and we take a personal attitude towards their well being. We also offer personal insurance, such as automobile and homeowners insurance.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We have a 'home' office and an office on Southlake Blvd in Northern Chesterfield. That way the weather (snow and hurricanes) can't deter is from our appointed rounds. (LOL)

The address is 400A Southlake Blvd, N. Chesterfield., VA 23236. We are across from Chesterfield Towne Center which is at the intersection of Route 60 (Midlothian Turnpike) and Route 147 (Huguenot Rd) in North Chesterfield. At that intersection going South, Huguenot Rd becomes Courthouse Rd. . Going in that direction, the first traffic light is at Southlake Blvd. Turn left onto Southlake, cross Branchway which is the next intersection and turn immediately left into our parking lot. We are the first condo on the left.
What type of payments do you accept?
We cannot accept credit cards, but checks can be emailed or faxed to us for the down payment. We have a program that converts the check into a negotiable check to deposit. Most of our insurance companies take credit card and debit card payments by phone.
Which areas do you service?
We service most of the Commonwealth of Virginia. We have customers from Alexandria to Chesapeake and from Deltaville to Afton. We can service most other states if the main office is based in Virginia.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
My husband Ken and I own the company. I run the daily operations with him, an assistant and a bookkeeper.
What are your hours of operation?
From 9 AM to 5 PM and other hours or days by appointment.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
From a forensic accounting claims adjuster that I gave them all the information to settle the claim, and that I couldn't have covered the insured with a better program. The customer was a corrugated box manufacturer who had a $550,000 fire. The insured's business was crippled by the fire, and he expressed gratitude to me because I went to the bank with him and the insurance policies to prove he could pay back a temporary loan, and needed to set up a facility ASAP to stay in business for Christmas boxes. We have a saying: Insurance isn't any good until you have a claim.
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
The King James Version of the Love chapter, also called "The Greatest Gift" from 1 Corinthians, all verses. The chapter is summed up by:verse 13 : "And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." The modern versions which transpose the word "charity" with the word "love", are also beautiful, but the King James Version sounds like comforting poetry to me.
